CASAbarthel homestead is a holiday home and a house only fifteen minutes driving from the Florentine city center above the Galluzzo neighborhood. The farm is located on the hill opposite the renowned Certosa dell’Ema: a medieval monastery that inspired the Swiss architect Le Corbusier designing one of the best XX century housing project. At the beginning of the 1980 myself and my family moved away
from the city center and thirty years later CASAbarthel is still our home and a small community. We all live here sharing the same love for the countryside, its olive oil, good food and the family lifestyle! The compound has a farm house, a tree house and a few more stone homes surrounded by olive trees. At the center of the homestead a large terracotta courtyard acts like a public square were celebrations take place all year around: from potlucks to weddings, drinks and playgrounds for the farm inhabitants and their guests. Two of our main passions are antique objects and contemporary art. We like to ‘hunt' them down, but more than anything else we can't stop collecting them! If you want to see and know more about our passion for the interior design, the arts and crafts, and antiques you should come visit our design and make shop ‘Riccardo Barthel' in Via dei Serragli n. 234 r, in the Santo Spirito district of Florence!
