We were one of the first B&B to open in Florence: our first Residence, Johanna1, opened in 1994. Residenza Johlea – that later became Antica Dimora Johlea – followed in 2002, and Antica Dimora Firenze in 2005. We have always believed that reception should be founded on hospitality, warmth and informality. As for furnishing, we favour the typical Florentine style, but we also like ethnic colors and
fabrics. We have always supervised every detail personally: from the clocks positioned in each room to the fine fabrics of the beds, and the pictures hanging on the walls. Each of our residences was greeted by excellent reviews on the main international guide books, both paper and online. We believe that tourists coming to Florence – whether it is for business or pleasure, for one day or for several weeks – should feel better than at home: enjoying the comfort and the autonomy of a family, but also taking advantage of all the services a hotel can offer. Each residence has a room dedicated to breakfast, with a buffet including a selection of sweet and salty foods. We hold CSQA certification for gluten-free products and, on request, we serve gluten-free breakfast. During the summer, at Antica Dimora Johlea, you can have your breakfast on the terrace, offering a magnificent view of the Duomo and the roofs of Florence. Since our residences used to be Florentine apartments, they offer a wide variety of relax areas that are available to guests. Many books on different topics, both in Italian and English, are available to guests. Each residence has a corner dedicated to what we call honesty bar: guests can help themselves, indicating on a special piece of paper what they have consumed, and their room number. Tea, coffee and snacks (both sweet and salty) are available free of charge at any time. Antica Dimora Johlea also has a charming terrace, where it is possible to have breakfast (during the summer) but also to sip a drink at sunset, or simply to enjoy a relaxing break.
