Mark Rothko in Florence ✨

🗓️ From 14 March to 23 August 2026, Palazzo Strozzi hosts a major exhibition dedicated to Mark Rothko, one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

🖼️ Born in 1903 in present-day Latvia and later moving to the United States, Rothko became a central figure of Abstract Expressionism. His work moved away from representation, focusing instead on large fields of colour designed to evoke deep emotional responses.

🧑🏻‍🎨 More than paintings, his canvases are spaces of contemplation: where colour, light and scale invite a silent, personal experience.

⚜️ Set within the Renaissance architecture of Palazzo Strozzi, the exhibition creates a striking dialogue between modern abstraction and the historic soul of Florence.
