Just floating above a secret green garden in the middle of an ancient city founded by the Romans. And just there is the tall, mysterious neo-Gothic tower rising above the trees. A 19th-century marquis used it to watch the night sky and so we named our hôtel particulier AdAstra, which means “to the stars” in Latin. Because they shine all day too.

AdAstra is an intimate boutique hôtel particulier located in an 18th-century palazzo in the historic Oltrarno district of Florence. The original historic mansion remains partly occupied by Italian nobility. The palazzo overlooks the Giardino Torrigiani, the largest privately owned urban garden in Europe (spanning roughly 17 acres). In the early 19th century, Marquis Pietro Torrigiani expanded the botanical grounds and built a neo-Gothic tower to serve as an astronomical observatory. This inspired the name AdAstra, Latin for “to the stars” ✫ ˚・* ੈ✩‧₊
