We hosted another retreat at Vista Alcantara… and what a few days it was!
Last year we hosted a small retreat for five people. This year, the same organiser returned with eleven participants from the United States, Germany and Switzerland for a four-day breathwork retreat.
This time I decided to take care of all the cooking myself, as well as everything else that comes with looking after a retreat group. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, cleaning, organising, welcoming everyone, making sure everything was running smoothly… and somehow I even found time to sing for them on our farewell evening!
There was plenty of beautiful food, long meals around the outdoor table, conversations, laughter, time in nature and, of course, the breathwork and teachings that brought everyone together in the first place.
What I love about hosting retreats at Vista Alcantara is that the experience doesn't end when the teaching session finishes. The meals, the mountain air, the views across the Alcantara Valley, the conversations around the table and the simple feeling of being together all become part of the retreat.
A huge thank you to Jeurg Roffler, the breathwork teacher and organiser, for choosing Vista Alcantara for a second time, and to every participant who travelled so far to share these days with us. It was an absolute pleasure to have you here.
I've written about the experience and about what it is really like to host a small international wellness retreat in the mountains of Sicily.
And who knows… perhaps we'll be welcoming another group here next year.
