Sabato 13 giugno l’Isola del Giglio ospiterà la serata finale di LUMINA ShortFest, un progetto originale di produzione cinematografica - ideato e promosso da LA GUARDIA, giunto alla seconda edizione.

Lumina Shortfest sostiene il talento emergente e racconta il territorio attraverso il linguaggio del cinema.

Some of them, have been working with us for 7 consecutive years. Giglio is powerful, and once you experience the beauty of living a simple life here it’s hard to go back to the city. We know something about it.

May 14th to May 18th - Yoga & trekking retreat with Sophie (English only)

May 8th to May 10th - RUGA Retreat with Valentina Coccia, Laura Riccioli & Sara Pittaluga. (Italian & for women only).

May 31th to June 4th - Yoga retreat with Jennifer (Italian & English).

Siamo felici di ospitare quest’anno a Maggio due retreat di yoga: il primo con Sophie prevede oltre allo yoga anche passeggiate nella natura che si risveglia, il secondo con Jennifer alterna momenti di puro relax in spiagge ancora deserte con pratiche di yoga.

Di solito le lezioni si svolgono nel deck affacciato sul mare e le rocce granitiche, più raramente pratichiamo all’interno.

Inoltre quest’anno ospitiamo per la prima volta “RUGA - Masterclass di liberazione estetica”. E’ dedicato alle donne over 40 che non vogliono fermare il tempo, ma dare nuovi contenuti alla parola bellezza. E’ un retreat che vuole far riflettere sul concetto di perfezione, e aiutare a ritrovare un benessere profondo. Perché come dice una delle donne più belle del mondo “Mascherare una crepa può diventare più pericoloso che cercare di abitarla” (la frase è Charlotte Casiraghi).

Spring is coming and this means we are almost ready to get to know the winners of LUMINA 2026, which will be officially announced on March 1st, 2026.

Every year only four young film-makers get the chance to produce their film for LUMINA Film Festival.

In this second edition we received an unexpectedly high number of scripts: comedy, drama, thriller…at LUMINA there is no limit to creativity or a specific genre to follow. The only requirement is that all stories take place on the fabulous Giglio island, who offers a great variety of settings and inspiration for these young artists.

Screen-writers are all under 25 years old, as the film directors and their crews. They will land on the island in May 2026 to start shooting: we so much look forward to welcome this enthusiastic tribe again.

Lumina is poetry, love for cinema, connections and so much fun!

PS You can already set on your calendar Saturday June 13th for Lumina party and screening night. The cherry on the cake.

La Guardia is not a luxury hotel chain. It is not a financial project, an interesting number on a spreadsheet.

It is instead the story of a couple who fell in love with the island. The plan was simple: create a unique space - a blend of design and authenticity - move to Giglio permanently and start a simpler life.

They never thought about La Guardia as a romantic hotel. But very quickly couples - honeymooners, lovers, long term partners - started booking every single available room.

In the last 5 years, La Guardia witnessed romantic escapes, first passionate weekends together and even marriage proposals. This was definitely not part of a marketing plan, it happened naturally.

And sometimes - like today - when we look back at some beautiful weddings that took place here, it all looks so clear: how could this not happen?

Many of you ask what happens here during the winter. For those coming to visit mainly for a dip in the sea, it may be difficult to understand life in Giglio in January.

The truth is that when the days are short (and nights long), the sea is rough, the temperature drops, there is a lot of beauty for those living here. During Christmas, the village lights up with “Presepi” (nativity scenes) popping up in different corners of the village. Bars and restaurants are closed, but we gather in medieval cellars, with close friends to drink wine and share some bread & cheese. We can take long walks in narrow paths, that criss-cross the island for 70 km.

We love being part of a small community, as we love getting ready for the new season that awaits.
