Hello Autumn 🍂
Cooler days, softer light, pink‑tinted sunsets… Maremma is shifting into its golden season.
Olives ripen, fields brighten, and the trees paint themselves in warm tones of brown, gold and yellow.

It’s a perfect time to explore this nature‑lover’s paradise — whether you’re here for hikes, bike rides, birdwatching or simply to breathe, slow down, and reconnect with the land.

Olive harvest season is drawing near… but the work begins long before we step into the fields.
Like good scouts, preparation is everything.

Today was all about checking the old nets, repairing the wear and tear of the past season, and cutting and hemming meters upon meters of new ones.

We learn from experience, improving year after year, shaping our tools and our rhythm with patience and care.

And Tippy, our resident tabby, seems quite pleased with the day’s efforts — his quiet approval, the perfect seal of a job well done.

A slow grey start after a long, stormy night.

The rain fell heavily, with lightning and thunder lighting up the skies, but thankfully no damages to report.

The temperature has dropped, and the land is finally receiving the rain it’s been waiting for — a welcome drink that will hopefully help our olives grow nice and plump in time for harvest season.

This little goldfinch chick needed a hand this morning, and with three very curious new kitties exploring every corner of the garden, his chances weren’t great.
A moment of care was all it took — and off he went, safely fledged into the Maremma sky
