🍅 HARVEST SEASON AT LO SMARRINO… AND NO, IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT THE W**E! 🍷😉
Yes, I live in Italy, where everyone gets excited about the grape and olive oil harvest … but at our Italian B&B Lo Smarrino, we’ve got a few other things growing. Enough to feed an army.
We planted the beds, got our hands dirty, and planted meaty tomatoes, because store-bought just doesn’t stand a chance.
I had a little help from my Aunt Sandy and my bestie, Melissa.
Then came the squash. Oh, the squash! Enough for the whole neighborhood. And of course red chilies, because… we’re Texans, y’all.
Mint, sage, plums, apples for homemade pies, and our girls deliver fresh eggs every single day.
The good life isn’t just poured into a w**eglass.
W**e, tomatoes, good friends, family, and a little dirt under your fingernails. Now THAT’S our kind of Italian living. 🇮🇹❤️

This is what I woke up with today at Lo Smarrino in Gubbio, Italy. 🇮🇹🌿

A little Italian countryside, a whole lot of nature, and the kind of quiet that makes you slow down and breathe it all in.

Today is about enjoying the simple things… fresh air, beautiful views, good coffee, happy dogs, and absolutely nowhere I need to be.

Counting blessings, soaking up this beautiful life, and reminding myself that sometimes less really is more. ❤️

Meet my girls… every one of our eight Hens is lovingly named after one of my ladies back in Texas. Why? Because just like my friends, hens are always clucking, gossiping, gathering together, and somehow running the whole place 😂

The funny part is, each chicken somehow perfectly matches her namesake’s personality. Some are sweet, some are sassy, some are bossy, and some simply believe they own the coop.

So when you visit us at our B&B, Lo Smarrino in Gubbio, Italy, you’ll get to meet the ladies of the Hen House. No particular order… and no offense intended if your chicken alter ego hasn’t been assigned yet. I just haven’t found your perfect match

Another morning, another little slice of heaven. 🌿

Fresh corn griddle cakes topped with our homemade berry compote, creamy yogurt with granola and fresh berries, Ed’s famous pound cake, fluffy eggs, and farm-fresh eggs from our happy hens.
