🌿 Adventure & pure nature around Lake Kaltern 🌿
This beautiful hike begins at Lake Kaltern – and it truly has everything you could wish for! ☀️
Starting from Lake Kaltern, the trail leads into the Rastenbach Gorge – and suddenly you find yourself in a completely different world: lush, almost enchanted vegetation, moss-covered rocks, ferns, and the constant sound of flowing water accompanying every step 🌱💧
It’s cool, shaded, and simply magical!
Step by step, wooden stairways and pathways guide you higher up, with little viewing platforms offering surprising perspectives along the way. And then: the spectacular suspension bridge (Friedensbrücke on the Peace Trail) 🌉 – definitely a highlight and a small adventure with a real wow factor!
Once you reach Altenburg, you’re rewarded with breathtaking views over Lake Kaltern and the surrounding vineyards 🍇 – the perfect moment to pause and take it all in.
⛪ The St. Peter ruins are also along the way and make for a peaceful and charming short stop.
🌰 The way back through the Nussental valley leads you gently back and perfectly rounds off this varied hike.
