Mezzanotte Blu by Ettore Spalletti.

A surface of blue that seems to absorb light and slowly release it back into the room. In Spalletti’s work, colour is never simply applied: it becomes matter, atmosphere and presence, creating a space suspended between painting, sculpture and architecture.

Quiet yet intensely physical, Mezzanotte Blu invites the eye to linger and the rhythm of the room to slow down. A work to be experienced through subtle shifts of light, distance and perception.

Ettore Spalletti (1940–2019) was an Italian artist whose practice moved between painting, sculpture, and spatial installation.

Known for his layered pigments and powder-like surfaces, Spalletti developed a distinctive visual language based on colour, light, and geometry. Working with a restrained palette — often blues, pinks, greys, and whites — his works explored the relationship between surface, volume, and space.

Throughout his career, he exhibited internationally, including at Documenta and the Venice Biennale, and his work remains a significant reference in postwar and contemporary Italian art.
