If you are feeling adventurous, it’s possible to walk about 4 km to Santa Katerina through the woods alongside the lake. It’s a great little walk, although don’t expect many signs so you have to make lots of decisions on which path to follow. However, if you just keep the lake on your left, you can’t go very wrong.

The local restaurant Circlo Aroloese is under new owners and is really great. If you want some authentic Italian food in a relaxed environment at a reasonable price we really recommend. You can play some boule and walk home after.

Arolo itself is a beautful old lakeside village, famous for its unspoilt beach and harbour.

The house has direct access to the beach area, which has a good cafe / bar and childrens playground, as well as a large grassed area to sit and steps down to the lake for swimming.

Arolo has only a few restaurants, but is close to many other towns and villages with lots to offer. We have many suggestions which we will gladly share with you, and include in the welcome pack.

The east side of Lago Maggiore is a quiet haven and Arolo itself is not really known to tourists. Therefore enjoy your time here and mix with locals, who are very friendly, especially to families and will also offer their advice.

The Apartment of Villa lago Maggiore is set into the ground as the property slopes down towards the lake. This gives a lovely separation allowing for the apartment to be quite private from the rest of the property. It also has its own garden infront of the lake, and its own entrances, quite separate from the main property.

On the roof of the apartment is a large terrace area and there is additionally terrace area infront of the apartment accessible from all rooms via the opening glass doors.

The apartment is designed to be fully self contained, and comfortably sleep 4 people.

The living room and kitchen area have a built in custom kitchen with Miele appliances. The full kitchen can be closed off, giving a sleek look to the apartment if the kitchen area is not required.

For dining there is a table outside suitable for 4, aswell as an island and seating inside the property.

There is also a 40" TV with UK channels and all apps, a Sonos system with integrated speakers, as well as air conditioning in the main living area.

The master bedroom has excellent views out onto the lake and garden and a standard King bed.

The 2nd bedroom has 2 large single beds custom built into the room shape to make best use of space and the natural light. This also allows for plenty of floor space, inbuilt storage and a built in work desk.

The bathroom provides full facilities including a large walk in shower and plenty of natural light.

The apartment has a 2nd toilet near the entrance.
