Ciao from Tuscany! A big "Thanks" to all of you who responded to our Winter special bookings here at Il Rifugio...we received several lovely reservations from friends and family, so we are very pleased. Keep us in mind when you want a Europe Getaway...prices are low, air fares not too bad, and the food...well, the food goes without saying!

Ciao to our Friends and Il Rifugio Family
We'd like to invite all of you to take advantage of a special "Friends and Family" rate here at Il Rifugio for the coming season. We are discounting our normal daily rates and offering our Facebook family a nightly rate of €90, which includes a wonderful breakfast every day, and afternoon "Happy Hour" with our favorite local wines and cheeses...and lots more.
Our guests staying at least 5 nights will enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by John himself, in the villa dining room.
John is a great cook, and prepares tasty fusion meals combining his Asian and American/Italian talents.
The above special pricing is a per-room rate, and will be offered until February 28, 2019, and may be used for the entire 2019 rental season.

Our dear friend Marion McHenry has posted photos of the Camellia plants and flowers here in the village. Every year, in March, thousands of folks come from all over Europe and the States to see this spectacular show. The Lucca silk merchants, many with villas in our area (to get away from the heat in the Lucca valley) imported Japanese and Chinese Camellias to add winter color to their estates. Many of the original plants survive, now well over 200 years of age. Our microclimate here in the hills is the ideal place for growing these beautiful flowers...beginning in December, most years, the show begins. The National Camellia Collection is now part of our village, with thousand of plants installed in the shady forest areas.,,,it is a sight to behold.

Hello to all, and a very Happy Holiday Season from us here in Tuscany...we're very grateful for the response we've gotten so far with our attempts at showing the world how wonderful this part of Italy really is...and we appreciate your input....in the coming new season, we'll be posting lots of information and news about our lovely Lucca area, and the very special sights to be found....we hope you'll enjoy it all.
