Ciao,

In Puglia there are many crowded hotspots, but also great nature reserves, dramatic caves, the oldest olive trees, medieval quarters and several hundred miles of coastline to enjoy.
And we save the best for last, the region’s star attraction, FOOD. You can enjoy fantastic food and great wine with a many typical local dishes.
Our favorites are polpette balls and fave e cicoria, a classic Puglian dish pairing a creamy, mild, soaked-and-simmered dried fava bean purée with bitter, boiled, and sautéed wild chicory.

If’s time to talk food and it’s time to celebrate with some prosecco or 2 and maybe you can order a plate of oriechette con crime di r**e like we do in Puglia.
Italy has a very tasty reason to celebrate because it’s national cuisine became the first entire gastronomic style to be recognized by UNESCO, a status that should help protect it from imitators. Uhm well after 6 years we know some secrets and it all starts with the best ingrediënts you can find on the local market psssst don’t tell anyone 😉

Puglia is surrounded by chrystal clear water. That’s why we can enjoy the beautiful sea and the coastline from Puglia whole year-round.

Our beach choices depend on the wind direction.

We head to the Ionian coast south of Taranto when the easter wind (Levante or Tramontana) blows.

When the wind blows west, it’s best to choose a beach on the Adriatic coast. Our favorite stretch of coastline is the Costiere Dune, a beautiful dune area south of the coastal town of Torre Canne.

Enjoy and do like the locals do, or just do the opposite and maybe you will have the beach to yourself 😉

What we admire most about Italians is that their “art of living” doesn’t depend on how rich one is.

The most Italians appreciate the little things in life and spend a lot of time on pleasures.

They know how to enjoy art, food, and love. That’s probably why Italians are so good at all of these things.

Cheers to the new year 🥂🫶🏽

First we want to thank you for following us and some of you for visiting the trullo. You were all wonderful and gave us a feeling of being appreciated ❤️❤️Unfortunately 2023 was really tough because we lost our dear bordercollie Bo last september💫
Bur out of the blue cat Cleo arrived after the death of Bo and gives us much laughter, love and joy, a small miracle for us🫶🏽
We are looking forward seeing you all again soon and hope you will drink and dance your way into 2024!
