The tenderness of Milanese cuisine, an inseparable friend of saffron risotto
it has its roots in the Milanese culinary tradition.

Known as "òs b's" in the Milanese dialect, in December 2007, it obtained the Municipal Designation (De.Co) of the City of Milan.

The origins go back even to the Middle Ages, which is why the original recipe does not include tomato, an ingredient not yet known in Europe, but the true spread of the dish was in the late 1800s when Artusi, the father of Italian gastronomes, inserted this recipe in "Science in Cooking and the Art of Eating Well", the first cookbook in the history of Italian cuisine.

This wine is only made in the best vintages.
The 2009 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a mysteriously ephemeral wine but also a very powerful one at the same time.
This wine shows a deep, dark color that is reinforced by thick density and smoky aromas that lift from the glass, followed by exotic spice, campfire ash, camphor and plenty of dark plummy and raisiny fruit. The bouquet reveals outlying aromas of bitter chocolate and crushed slate. In the mouth, the wine offers plenty of ripeness and fruity sweetness, but there is enough supporting structure here to absorb both the sugar and the alcohol. There is a sweetly fragrant earthy note on the long and silky finish.

The origins of Milanese risotto date back to the Middle Ages and are linked to a similar recipe of Arab and Jewish cuisine. In the Middle Ages, in Italy, this dish was known as rice with zafran.
The Milanese risotto was born in 1574 at the table of the Belgian glassmaker Valerio di Fiandra, who at the time resided in Milan because he was working on the windows of the Milan Cathedral.

For his daughter's wedding, his glass colleagues added a white risotto with saffron butter: this spice was in fact used by glass producers to obtain a particular yellow color of the glass.
The new dish was immediately successful, both for its flavor and for its yellow hue, which recalled gold, synonymous with wealth.
Saffron also had recognized pharmacological properties and therefore yellow risotto soon spread to Milanese taverns and taverns.
The Milanese risotto disappeared from the chronicles to reappear on documents in 1809, when it was called "yellow rice in a pan".
Later, in 1829, in another recipe book, the famous Milanese dish is called "yellow Milanese risotto".

The Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta wanted to create a thoroughbred wine that was suitable for both himself and the rest of the Italian nobility of the era.

The vineyard’s name is inspired by stones.
Located 650 feet below the Castiglioncello vineyard, Sassicaia is planted on a 30-acre plot of gravelly soil. Translating to “the place of many stones,” Sassicaia mirrors the Graves region of Bordeaux.
