After two weeks of hunting and after destroying half our garden, we got you! Because we love you, we've brought you to an area of our countryside where you can do all the damage you want :)))))

Traditions of San Giovanni, June 24

Between the night of June 23rd and 24th, San Giovanni water is prepared. Legend has it that on that very night, the dew of the gods falls, giving flowers and herbs special strength. To prepare it, fresh flowers and aromatic herbs are gathered at sunset.

The following morning, June 24th, San Giovanni water can be used to wash hands and face, in a sort of propitiatory and purifying ritual said to bring good luck and health.

Nocino is prepared on June 24th (the night of San Giovanni) because at this time, walnuts are still "unripe," with their husks soft and rich in essential oils. According to popular tradition, this date coincides with the summer solstice, the time when herbs and fruits are considered magical and full of energy.

This year we decided to allow swallows to return to our home after several years. In our warehouse, which is used to store the tractor and other maintenance equipment,The swallows just returned and had five chicks. Long live nature!
