Last night we had a delicious dinner at Ristorante Christian e Manuel in Vercelli. The Costardi brothers are famous for their risottos served in Campbell’s like soup cans. Vercelli is the world capital of risotto rice, ca. 90% of Carnaroli and Arborio rice is produced in the region.

Massimo, our neighbor in Mombaruzzo, helped us this weekend with leveling the garden. The steep excavation behind the pool has been flattened and everything looks so much more natural! Theo has ordered a tremendous amount of perennials and hydrangeas, so the planting can now commence!

Today, we biked to Alice Bel Colle, a charming village near Mombaruzzo. From one of the highest vantage points in the area, we were treated to the most wonderful views. Unfortunately, the haze obscured the Alps, but the scenery was still breathtaking!
