Every door at Palazzo Fauzone opens like the cover of a book. This one leads into the world of Don Chisciotte. 📖⚔️
For over eight centuries, this medieval palazzo in the heart of Mondovì Piazza was home to the Fauzone family. Expanded and frescoed in the 1500s, then left empty for decades, it was brought back to life by two passionate book lovers, and books are still its beating heart. Every room and apartment is inspired by a classic of world literature and decorated by award-winning illustrators; a copy of the book waits for you inside, and our library and bookcrossing shelves invite you to keep reading. Fitting, in the town where the first book in Piedmont was printed, back in 1472.
Don Chisciotte is our tribute to Cervantes’ knight-errant, illustrated by Gek Tessaro. Beneath centuries-old beams: a long table for shared dinners, a kitchen tucked under the staircase, a carved antique wardrobe and a freestanding bathtub steps from the bed. Out the windows, no windmills in sight: just terracotta rooftops and the Alps.

Dimora della famiglia Fauzone per oltre otto secoli, nel cuore di Mondovì Piazza, il Palazzo è rinato grazie all’amore per i libri, che ancora oggi ne sono il cuore pulsante. Ogni camera e appartamento è ispirato a un classico della letteratura, illustrato da artisti pluripremiati, con il suo libro ad attendervi; biblioteca e bookcrossing fanno il resto. Non a caso siamo nella città dove, nel 1472, fu stampato il primo libro del Piemonte.
Il nostro omaggio al cavaliere errante di Cervantes, illustrato da Gek Tessaro: travi secolari, una lunga tavola conviviale, la cucina sotto la scala e la vasca freestanding accanto al letto. Dalle finestre, nessun mulino a vento: solo tetti rossi e Alpi.
