What a wonderful Cooking Class today at Villa Le Torri, surrounded by amazing guests, laughter and happiness!

Together, we shared the joy of preparing homemade food, following the traditions passed down through generations.

Because Italian cooking is more than recipes. It is culture, love and the pleasure of being together.

We love these moments. We love sharing our traditions with you.

“Some people return after many years. And sometimes, I wonder what they are really coming back to find.”

My dear Good Giant,

sometimes a car comes up the hill…

and I recognize the faces.

Older now.

A little different.

But the smiles…

the smiles are the same.

“Gabry! Do you remember us?”

Of course I do.

We hug.

We laugh.

And then something beautiful happens.

They walk through your garden…

and suddenly become quiet.

They stop beside an old tree.

They look at a window.

They recognize a corner where, many years ago, they took a photograph.

And for a moment…

time seems to disappear.

I watch them, and I understand.

They haven’t simply come back to see you.

They have come back to find something of themselves.

The young couple they once were.

The children who used to run across your grass.

A summer when everyone was still together.

And you, my dear Good Giant…

you have kept those moments safe.

You cannot give people back the years.

You cannot bring back everything time has taken away.

But sometimes…

you can give them one precious moment in which nothing seems to have changed.

And perhaps that is your most beautiful gift.

Not that people can return to you.

But that, for a little while…

they can return to who they once were.

My dear Good Giant,

sometimes people ask me:

“Do you remember all the guests who have stayed with you?”

Almost thirty years.

Thousands of people.

Of course I cannot remember every name.

And yet…

sometimes I walk through your garden
and suddenly remember a laugh.

I look at a table
and see a family sitting there again.

I hear someone calling “Gabry!”…

even though no one is there.

And then I understand.

People don’t simply stay here.
They leave something behind.

A laugh.

A birthday.

A friendship.

A child’s footsteps.

A hug on Saturday morning.

You arrived with suitcases.

You left with photographs.

But something else happened.

You took a little piece of Villa Le Torri with you.

And she…

kept a little piece of you.

That’s why, when years later you write:

“Gabry, we still think about Le Torri…”

I wish you could hear my answer:

“And we still think about you.”

So if you have ever stayed with us
and sometimes wonder whether she remembers you…

she does.

You may have stayed for only one week.

But, my dear friends…

you never completely left.

No rush. No plans. Just the beauty of being together.

My dear Good Giant,

sometimes, late at night,
when everyone has gone to bed…

I walk through your garden.

And you are silent.

At least…

that’s what people think.

Because I know better.

After almost thirty years of welcoming guests,
you are full of voices.

Children laughing in the pool.

Glasses touching around a table.

Someone calling my name from a window.

Strangers meeting on Saturday…

and hugging goodbye one week later.

Thousands of conversations
I no longer remember.

But perhaps…

you do.

Perhaps somewhere inside your ancient walls
you have kept a little piece of everyone.

A laugh.

A secret.

A birthday wish.

A first kiss.

A child’s footsteps.

A final “arrivederci.”

And suddenly I understand why,
after everyone has gone,

you never really feel empty.

They are still here.

Not in the apartments.

Not in the photographs.

But in the life they left behind.

Maybe that’s why some guests return after many years
and become quiet when they walk through the gate.

Perhaps something inside them recognizes something inside you.

As if you were whispering:

“I remember you.”

And tonight, my dear Good Giant,
when all your windows are dark…

I like to imagine you listening to all those voices.

Almost thirty years of people who came as guests…

and left a little piece of themselves behind.

So to everyone who has ever slept beneath her roof:

you may have left Villa Le Torri…

but Villa Le Torri has never completely let go of you.
