We made quite many new friends this summer and we still have a big smile on our face when we think about them. We spent some time together that will warm our hearts during next winter and help us facing some obstacles life has put on our path. We believe complaining doesn’t help and we will never stop showing our gratitude for the small things that make every single day so special. Thank you so much for staying at Casa Durkes. If you think we are too close to the beach, maybe you are right. In the ‘60s, laws in Italy were different and it was possible to build right in front of the beach, an area which it would be now rightfully restricted. We are aware of the immense privilege we have, and we try to preserve the environment as much as we can. We hope those pine trees in front of the house help us merging into the landscape, without being a disturbing presence. Sometimes we ask ourselves what have we done to deserve all this luck and live in such an amazing place. That’s why we decided to share that privilege with you!
