Puglia - Surrounding Countryside: Our trulli is ideally situated for easy exploration of Puglia, its countryside / the Valle d'Itria and beautiful towns / villages of Ostuni, Martina Franca, Cisternino, Ceglie, Locorotondo --- many of which you can see from our hilltop position. The World UNESCO site of Alberobello is only a 15 km drive through the rolling countryside of the Apulian hills. Beaches: there are plenty of beaches and beachcombing to discover in the area, from unspoilt white sand stretches to seculded coves; with or without facilities ie beach bars, beach clubs. Here's a sampling: Torre Canne, Torre Guaceto, Villanova, Torre Pozella, Costa Merlata, Pilone, Boscoe Verde. Further afield, the beautiful baroque city of Lecce or the hauntingly beautiful Matera is 1.5 hours drive and make for scenic and enjoyable day trips, exploring their well-preserved architecture and many art galleries and cafe's.
