🗣️🇬🇧 The traditions of the Alpine villages are alive in the Po Valley: come and discover the Carnival of Paesana.

On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th March the town fills with colours and masked figures to collectively greet the end of winter and the beginning of Lent. In Paesana there is one of the few carnivals where the allegorical wagon pulled by tractors created by the young people of the area still gather. An ancient tradition to celebrate all day long with music, steaming polenta and w**e.

Experience folklore and contribute to maintaining the traditions!

🗣️🇮🇹 Le tradizioni dei borghi alpini sono vive in valle Po: vieni a scoprire il Carnevale Paesanese.

Sabato 8 e domenica 9 marzo il paese si riempie di colori e figuranti per salutare collettivamente la fine dell'inverno e l'inizio della quaresima. In Paesana si ha uno dei pochi carnevali dove si radunano ancora i carri allegorici trainati da trattori creati dai giovani del territorio. Una tradizione antica per festeggiare ore e ore di fila con musica, polenta fumante e vino.

🗣️🇬🇧 When we hear the sounds of Grapiet or Occitan, we think of proud mountains, tough people and rugged paths. In the highlands it is still clear how the relationship between environment and culture is two-way.

We care a lot about our language and what it represents, and so the name of our structure wants to be a small tribute: Tabuzo. Which means home in Grapiet, and we hope it can become yours for a few days too.

🗣️🇮🇹 Quando sentiamo i suoni del Grapiet o dell'Occitano ci vengono in mente montagne fiere, persone coriacee e sentieri impervi. Nelle terre alte è ancora chiaro come il rapporto tra ambiente e cultura sia a doppio senso.

Noi teniamo molto alla nostra lingua e a quello che rappresenta, e quindi il nome della nostra struttura vuole essere un piccolo omaggio: Tabuzo. Che significa casa in Grapiet, e speriamo lo possa diventare per qualche giorno anche per voi.

📍 Paesana is located in the upper Po Valley and is divided into two main villages by what will become the longest river in Italy.

It extends over a large area of 58.27 square kilometers that are dotted with hamlets and groups of houses, all once inhabited, which testify to its peasant past.

➡ Today it is perfect for those seeking nature, hidden treks and a dive into the authentic traditions of the Po Valley.

In the beginning was the word. And so it is for us too. Let's start with the name: Tabuzo. "House" in Grapiet, which is a jargon unique to the upper Po Valley (and especially Ostana) where it sprouted incredibly different from everything else.

The territory we live in is rich in history and culture, and with these and other posts we would like to give you one more reason to stop by. Or if you already live in this valley, some information on how to look at our future knowing the past. Follow us and you won't be disappointed ;)

In principio era il verbo. E così è anche per noi. Partiamo dal nome: Tabuzo. "Casa" in Grapiet, che è un gergo proprio solo dell'alta valle Po (e soprattutto Ostana) dove è germogliato incredibilmente diverso da tutto il resto.

Il territorio che abitiamo è ricco storia e cultura, e con questi ed altri post vorremmo darvi un motivo in più per passare da noi. O se già abitate questa valle, qualche nozione su come guardare al nostro futuro conoscendo il passato. Seguiteci e non ne rimarrete delusi ;)
