From Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 November, the Villa Lena Foundation and BIGAMO are hosting A Music Celebration on the estate: three nights of live sets from BIGAMO Musik artists and our 2026 residents, dinners at Osteria San Michele, and an evening in Florence for Palazzo Strozzi’s twentieth anniversary, with & Sebastian Mullaert playing live.

It closes the first chapter of our music residencies with BIGAMO Musik , the Berlin label Frank Wiedemann of Âme started as a home for electronic listening music. For seven months, six musicians and performers lived and worked at Villa Lena, and on some evenings they performed for our guests.

€500 per person for three nights, with breakfast and dinner, the Palazzo Strozzi celebration with return transfer, and every concert. Come with friends!

Emily Hett is a Midlands-based artist whose ceramics, paintings and public sculptures explore how joy can be cultivated through art, drawing on nature, bold colour and pattern.

At Villa Lena, her workshops begin with a walk across the estate to gather leaves and vines. Guests then press them into clay to make a vessel or candle holder, or turn them into layered, colourful surface designs.

The whole family together, with a piece of the Tuscan countryside to yourselves. Casa Margherita and Casetta Bella sit side by side on a private gated compound, surrounded by olive groves and woodland. Take both and the whole compound is yours, with room for up to 16.

Autumn days are still warm enough to lie by the pool, and the cool evenings are made for getting cozy by the fire.

A 10-minute drive away, at the heart of the estate, our agriculture team is getting ready for the morning truffle hunt.

It’s white truffle season, so follow our agriculture team and their dogs into the woods with the whole family.

At Osteria San Michele, Chef Angel serves tortelli di zucca from our autumn menu, finished with white truffle from the morning’s hunt.

Something for everyone: hikes across the estate, pasta workshops and cozy movie nights at the Fattoria.

Every October, a spell falls over Tuscany, and here at Villa Lena we feel it everywhere.

Ottobrata is the Italian tradition of marking the last of the season’s light, and this year we’re celebrating it with the whole family. Start the day with our agriculture team, the true locals, on a truffle hunt through the estate’s woodland. We’ve planned creative workshops for every age, from frottage with Vicky Anna Lardschneider to drawing and painting with Carolina Sardi and Karina Chechik. For Halloween, there are spooky crafts, a ghost-themed workshop and a kids’ movie night with sweets. In the evening, there’s live music from ‡ J E A N N E L ‡ and our autumn truffle menu at Osteria San Michele.

Stay with us this October in our Fattoria and add a truffle hunt to your stay. Choose the Superior, or the Large Superior for more space and a soaking tub by the window.

Floor-to-ceiling marble in white and deep red, with underfloor heating for cold autumn mornings. The rainfall shower runs on recirculated irrigation water from the estate.

In the Fattoria, Hesselbrand kept the bones of the old stables and gave them a new life.

the Fattoria has a grand architectural volume that reflects its past life as the estate’s historic stables. Its interiors, designed by London-based studio Hesselbrand, bring together the original character of the building with an elegant, contemporary sensibility.

Every stay at Villa Lena begins here, at the heart of the estate. Just past reception, you’ll find our screening room for movie nights, the famous billiard table, a piano, a yoga studio and quiet corners for reading, working or settling into a long afternoon with a game.

And even quieter, the Rain Pavilion, a space just to be. To sit, listen to the rain, meditate or do nothing for a while.

The Fattoria is also home to 12 Superior and Large Superior rooms, with contemporary details, pieces by local artisans and art left behind by artists who have stayed with us over the years.

Next week, past resident from 2016 Sarah Illenberger will be hosting You’ve Got Mail, a workshop in mail art: collage and assemblage from found materials.

Sarah joins us Wednesday, September 30th at 15:30. Collect what the estate offers, a leaf, a ticket, a pressed flower, or bring something carried from home, and together we’ll collage, stamp, write and paint until each piece becomes a letter worth keeping. Then it’s addressed and posted to whoever you choose.

Tartufo Bianco season is almost here! Starting October 1, head out with our agriculture team and follow the truffle-hunting dogs through oak and hazel woods that have been walked for centuries, once sacred ground for the Etruscans.

Along the way, learn to read the forest: birdsong, wild boar tracks, and the particular stillness just before our truffle hunting dogs reveal today’s find.
