La costruzione del Baglio Cappello risale al 1700 ed è di proprietà della famiglia Cataldo da quattro generazioni. L’azienda, di circa 10 ettari, è gestita da Daniela Adamo e si trova nell'agro di Partinico a circa 40 km da Palermo. Ci dedichiamo alla coltivazione di circa duemila alberi d’ulivo scegliendo l'agricoltura biologica al fine di sviluppare un modello di produzione che impieghi sostanze

naturali e processi di coltivazione virtuosi. Daniela, da sempre appassionata di buon cibo, si è laureata in Scienze Gastronomiche nell'omonima Università nata e promossa da Slow Food. Oltre a dedicarsi al fondo agricolo di famiglia Daniela organizza delle Cooking Class per turisti e appassionati di cucina. L'obiettivo è sia quello di far riscoprire la storia e la gastronomia della cucina siciliana utilizzando ricette del passato o dimenticate, sia quello di educare alla selezione delle materie prime, scegliendo esclusivamente prodotti stagionali a km 0 da produttori locali: uno Show Cooking dall’orto al piatto! 🍊 Here in Sicily, winter has an unmistakable scent, like that of oranges freshly picked from the garden. To me, they are like preserved sunshine, ready to be enjoyed!

Today I’m making my favorite salad: I use my own oranges, black olives from our trees, onion, and fennel for crunch. It is a simple dish, yet every family treasures its own recipe. I love it to finish Sunday lunch or as a light side dish for dinner.

Imagine waking up without a rush, welcomed only by the clarity of the Sicilian light filtering through the windows. The day flows slowly, the pool water shimmers in the sun, and the fresh air invites you to a state of total rest, far away from everything.

This place is ideal for those who still know how to appreciate the value of silence and privacy. A corner of the world where you can feel part of an ancient story, with all the comforts of the present.

January silence at the Baglio has a sound all its own.

It is a time for the land to rest; a time of hours marked by the rhythm of the wind through the branches and the pale light that enters shyly through the windows.

In these days of slow living, I often find myself observing the corners of the estate that, in summer, are filled with voices and warmth.
There is a hint of nostalgia for those long sunsets and the majesty of the bougainvillea that fills the courtyard, but it is a gentle nostalgia, the kind that serves to nourish the imagination.

Despite the apparent stillness, my mind does not stop!

This winter is a silent workshop for me: I am developing new projects and outlining what the Baglio will become in the upcoming season, with the goal of making this home an even more authentic sanctuary for those who come to visit me.

The countryside teaches us that nothing is truly motionless, even in the cold. It is simply preparing to bloom once again.
