One of the things we've always enjoyed about driving down to Casa Castagna is the opportunity to visit different place on the way. We stopped in Verona and spent a great day wandering the streets looking at all the sights. In the evening there way a dramatic thunderstorm which created a very atmospheric evening with reflective cobbled streets and crisp light. One of my favourite shots was this one taken next to the amphitheatre.

Sitting in front of my computer thinking about some of our recent trips to Casa Castanga. This is a shot from the medieval festival in Pescia where people dress up in Medieval costume and parade with drummers and flag bearers from the four quarters of the city towards the main square. Great fun for all ages lots of colour, noise, pageantry and the odd selfie.

I think of all the cities near Casa Castagna our favourite is Lucca. It's great for interesting things to see and do, fab restaurants and bike hire is reasonable. What's your favourite ?
