From the archive, circa Summer 1974 — the year after Liza Minnelli won an Oscar for her brilliant performance in Cabaret.

Liza Minnelli, at ease in the Salone Bianco, the all-white room Franco Zeffirelli shaped with his dear friend Renzo Mongiardino, and which today lives on as Bianca Bar. Mirrored cushions, Syrian mother-of-pearl-inlaid mirrors and textured ceramic tiles catch Positano’s flickering light.
