The apartment (45 m2) on the first floor has 1 bedroom, a bathroom, a living room with a sofa bed and a kitchenette. It’s fully equipped and can provide accommodation for 4 people. From its windows it offers a wonderful view on the opposite hills, down to the valley and reaching the sea and the Tuscan islands in the brightest days. It's the perfect accommodation if you're looking for a relaxing ho
liday, off the beaten path surrounded by the green fascinating Tuscan landscapes with vineyards and olive trees, if you want to rest reading a book or listening to some music or just sunbathing in the silence of nature, only surrounded by bird songs or bleating sheep. It’s your ideal destination if you are a hot springs lover, the ancient steaming hot springs of Petriolo (both spas and wild/free option) lurking in the natural park along the Farma river are only 15 minutes by car. It is also great for active travelers who want to be in direct contact with nature and go hiking/trekking to discover the local fauna or flora or bird watching in the natural park Parco dell’Uccellina or in the Diaccia Botrona. We can organize hiking tours with an official hiking guide. You will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of our 2 ha parkland where on sunny days you’ll love swinging (or even sleeping) in a hammock in our little pinewood or go look for blackberries and then make a delicious jam. Private terrace outside with table, chairs and barbecue. Parking place just outside the house. Free wi-fi in the house and in the garden. Washing machine and baby cot available upon request. We speak Italian, English, French, Dutch and a little bit of German and Spanish. We live here on the ground floor, so please feel free to ask us for tips and suggestions on what to do, where to eat, or whatever you may need. We'll be very happy to help you out and make your stay unforgettable. We really look forward to welcoming you as our guests. The house is only 1.2 km on a dirt road from the picturesque medieval village of Roccastrada where you will find groceries, bakers, a butcher, a supermarket, 2 banks, a drugstore and a postal office for all your needs. There are a couple of restaurants/pizzeria’s in the village and plenty of outstanding trattoria’s and little restaurants in the nearby small villages or in the countryside where you’ll enjoy great wine and food. It's an excellent home base for daily trips to the world famous art cities Siena, Florence and Pisa; it is only 45 minutes by car from the beautiful sandy beaches of Castiglione della Pescaia and Punta Ala, from the wonderful wine region of Montalcino, the deeply wooded Orcia valley and the volcanic peaks of Mount Amiata, the highest mountain in Tuscany (1738 m), covered with snow in the winter with ski facilities.
