🏨 ROOM GIOVANNI MARTINELLI

Giovanni Martinelli, grandfather of Silvia, the owner, was a great Italian voice of The Metropolitan Hotel in New York, from 1913 to 1946.

Every year he came from America to spend the summer holidays in his beloved Cà Rossa, in the province of Bergamo, hosting the many relatives and friends who went by to say hello.

A memory of the beautiful Cà Rossa came all the way to Rome: the closet and the wrought iron bed are, in fact, the original furnishings of the bedroom of "The King of Metropolitan"

🏨 ROOM RITA LEVI MONTALCINI

An Italian woman we all know for her great tenacity and dedication to work.

She achieved excellent results in field of biological research in the ‘80s, thanks to her will to succeed and her ability to work as a team. Results that she had already suggested 30 year before, in her small research laboratory built in her garage.

The award of the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1986, paved the way for other major awards and recognitions, including:

🔸 Admission to Ponticifia Academy of Sciences in 2001, first woman to obtain access
🔸 The election as Senator for Life in 1982

The largest room of our B&B is dedicated to her just to witness and remind us that success comes only after a maximum effort, constant and stubborn.

B&B Il Viandante Romano is just 100 m from Rome's Piazza Bologna Metro on Line B, 5 stops from the Coliseum. The modern rooms offer free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV.

The rooms come with air conditioning, private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, and a minibar. Most also have a balcony.
