Are you planning to visit Rome in the next few months? Yes, Roman Summer can be hot, very hot... but we have delicious gelato and refreshing grattachecca (shaved ice), and here are the 5 things you must pack if you want to conquer the Roman Sun! 😎 🌞

🚰1. A reusable water bottle. You'll want to stay as hydrated as possible, and Rome, especially in the city centre, is full of public fountains where you can refill your bottle for free. We call these fountains Nasoni (=big noses: for the shape of their curved spout). This app will help you find the closest nasone: https://waidy.it

🩴2. A pair of comfortable and breathable walking shoes (You will be walking all day, so you don't want to have blisters or sweaty feet 😱)

☀️3. A high spf suncream. Many main attractions like the Colosseum or the Roman Forum are outdoors, so protect your skin and enjoy the sun without risking a bad burn.

👕👖 4. Bring church appropriate clothing! When visiting the main Roman Basilicas or other churches, you will be asked to cover your shoulders and knees. Pack a light cotton scarf or a shawl to cover yourself... It won't take too much room in your backpack!

👒5. A sun hat. You may be walking during the hottest hours of the day, so, in addition to your sun cream, some portable shade will be a welcome treat! A sun hat or, even better, a sun umbrella will be a welcome respite from the sun

Winter in Rome is usually very mild, but it can be rainy and windy. What to pack then? Well, we got you covered!
Here are 5 must-have and some advice for you 😉

🥾1. A pair of comfortable walking shoes (if waterproof... even better!). You will be walking all day, so you need shoes that won't give you blisters or get stuck in the cobblestones.
🌧️2. A waterproof poncho or a raincoat. Winter in Rome is often rainy, but carrying an umbrella can be pretty inconvenient when you have to hop on and off a bus or are visiting packed outdoor sites like the forum. A waterproof poncho is great also because it offers a cover for your backpack. Avoid the single use plastic ones and invest in a good durable garment!

🔋5. A power bank. You don't want to find yourself with a low battery level on your phone or camera, so always carry with you a power bank.
