yesteryear collides with the present. Romance oozes from every inch of this family-run endeavour whose rooftop terrace takes in an iconic scene of historic Rome: Piazza Navona. As the hotel’s namesake suggests, each of its six floors were constructed by the acclaimed architect Francesco Borromini. They are brimming with intricate frescoes and pop/contemporary art exhibitions on loan from Borromini Art Gallery. A mesmerising open-air terrace is tucked between the bell tower and the dome of Santa Agnese church and the first floor is home to the Pamphili private library lined with famous and rare books and manuscripts. Eitch Borromini feels like a private palace and movie set (reminiscent of La Grande Bellezza by Paolo Sorrentino) and it has unbeatable 360-degree views of legendary Rome. The Palazzo's patio forms part of the Terrazza Borromini restaurant where locals and guests are treated to a menu that honours classic Italian/Mediterranean cuisine and fresh ingredients
from local regions. Authentic Italian flair also flows through each of the 22 rooms and suites where original fireplaces, high vaulted ceilings, walk-in wardrobes and marble bathrooms featuring emotional showers are standard luxuries. Each one has been carefully decorated to reflect their unique character and frames the city perfectly through oversized windows.

Un vero e proprio museo immortalato in film e spot, che si affaccia su Piazza Navona, nel cuore di Roma. I nostri ospiti possono fare colazione davanti alla fontana dei Quattro Fiumi del Bernini, sotto le campane della chiesa di Santa Agnese in Agone e dormire in suite con affreschi che risalgono ai tempi in cui papi e cardinali ne abitavano le stanze. Le ampie camere vantano arredi raffinati e un connubio tra dettagli moderni e caratteristiche della costruzione originale con tutti i confort. Soggiornare, pranzare o solo visitare una mostra all’interno del palazzo equivalgono letteralmente ad abitare la storia.

And here in Piazza Navona, the sky seems to challenge the very beauty of the monuments. In fact, some perspectives don’t need a filter: you just have to look up to be overwhelmed by the majesty of the Baroque facades that shaped history. Getting lost with your head in the clouds among this architecture is the only way to truly breathe in the authentic and monumental soul of the Eternal City.

E qui a Piazza Navona il cielo sembra quasi voler sfidare la bellezza dei monumenti. Ci sono prospettive, infatti, che non hanno bisogno di filtri: basta alzare lo sguardo per lasciarsi sopraffare dalla maestosità delle facciate barocche che hanno fatto la storia. Perdersi con il naso all'insù tra queste architetture è l'unico modo per respirare davvero l’anima autentica e monumentale della Città Eterna.
