GRAZIE SIG. STEFANO!!!!!

Appartamento al primo piano di un palazzo (con ascensore) in Borgo Angelico, proprio a pochi passi dalla Città del Vaticano, da Piazza Risorgimento, nel quartiere Prati. Alloggio di apprezzabile ristrutturazione: vi sono state ricavate alcune stanze con servizi. La nostra stanza aveva anche un grazioso balcone affacciato su una strada molto tranquilla. Le dimensioni della nostra camera non erano enormi, tuttavia la stanza era dotata di tutto, comodi letti, cassaforte, frigobar, riscaldamento regolabile, aria condizionata, wifi. Il bagno non è grandissimo ma neppure microscopico come ho letto in altre recensioni. Ci si sta benissimo ed è ben dotato, con doccia a soffione, perfino con led di cromoterapia, acqua caldissima e prontissima, sanitari moderni, e tutte le toiletries necessarie, con pulizia quotidiana e cambio degli asciugamani. Colazione perfetta con ottimi croissant e tanta scelta di altri cibi e bevande. Direi che non mancasse proprio nulla. Il personale con cui abbiamo avuto modo di interagire è stato sempre gentilissimo. Ci siamo trovati bene, credo che sia una struttura da tenere sicuramente in considerazione per alloggiare in zona Vaticano.

Pobyt w Vatican Relais oceniam bardzo wysoko. Hotel ma świetną lokalizację – dosłownie dwie minuty od Watykanu, a jednocześnie w pobliżu wielu restauracji, kawiarni oraz stacji metra. To idealne miejsce, aby zwiedzać Rzym pieszo i korzystać z jego uroków. Śniadania są naprawdę pyszne i urozmaicone – każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie. Obsługa recepcji od pierwszego kontaktu robi bardzo dobre wrażenie, gościnna i pomocna, a housekeeping dba o wszystko na wysokim poziomie. Dużym atutem jest możliwość pozostawienia bagażu zarówno przy wcześniejszym przyjeździe, jak i po wymeldowaniu, co bardzo ułatwia podróż. Zdecydowanie polecam ten hotel – świetny standard, doskonała lokalizacja i życzliwy personel sprawiają, że chce się tu wrócić.

My family and I had the most wonderful,courteous,generous and outstanding experience. The employee staff was amazing at providing all their care and detailed attention to our questions and needs. This was the most pleasant experience in any vacations that we have taken so far. Thank you Relais Hotel staff and management for your excellent dedication to the hospitality service.

Staff were super helpful. They packed us breakfast the night before because we will be leaving very early. Rooms are very near St. Peter's Basilica. Also near bus stop that takes you to Centro Historico and the Termini Stn. Ideal location if visiting the Vatican.

Todo estaba muy limpio y ordenado, lo cual hizo que la estancia fuera muy agradable. El desayuno buffet fue variado y delicioso, ideal para empezar bien el día. La ubicación es excelente, muy cerca del Vaticano y en una zona tranquila, perfecta para descansar después de recorrer la ciudad. Sin duda, una gran opción para contactar en Roma

Struttura gestita egregiamente. Molto pulita e la camera piuttosto spaziosa (eravamo in 3), con un piacevolissimo balcone, per nulla rumorosa la via su cui affacciano le camere. La posizione rispetto a San Pietro e davvero top. In pochissimi minuti si raggiunge il colonnato. La zona e anche ottimamente servita da trattorie ed e vicinissima a piazza Risorgimento dove inizia un grande viale pedonale per lo shopping. La colazione semplice ma davvero completa di tutto per accontentare sia il palato dolce che quello salato. Insomma,tornerò sicuramente in questa struttura alla prossima occasione. Viaggiavo insieme a mia madre 85 anni e mia figlia di 9.

Una pagnotta a Borgo Pio
Siamo a Borgo Pio. Un occhio attento può notare sul muro all'angolo con Via del Campanile, un cerchio inciso nella pietra. Un disco che a noi non dice niente, ma che in passato ha avuto una grande importanza nella vita quotidiana della gente. Ecco il racconto. La carestia a Roma limitava la quantità di farina che i fornai del rione avevano a disposizione per cucinare il pane. Il prezzo della pagnotta era stabilito per legge. Ecco allora che i fornai, per poter guadagnare un po' di più, ridussero la grandezza della pagnotta, vendendo così a un popolo affamato pagnotte sempre più piccole allo stesso prezzo.

Il Papa se ne accorse e intervenne con una soluzione drastica e molto semplice: fece incidere appunto questo disco che doveva essere l'esatta misura della pagnotta venduta, con tanto di bordi rinforzati per evitare manomissioni. La povera gente così non sarebbe stata più imbrogliata perché chiunque poteva confrontare ciò che stava per acquistare con quello che la legge diceva doveva essergli venduto.

A loaf of bread in Borgo Pio
We are in Borgo Pio. An attentive eye can notice on the wall on the corner with Via del Campanile, a circle engraved in the stone. A record that means nothing to us, but which in the past had great importance in people's daily lives. Here's the story. Famine in Rome limited the amount of flour that the neighborhood's bakers had available to cook bread. The price of a loaf of bread was established by law. Here then the bakers, in order to earn a little more, reduced the size of the loaf, thus selling increasingly smaller loaves at the same price to a hungry population.

The Pope noticed this and intervened with a drastic and very simple solution: he had this disc engraved which had to be the exact size of the loaf sold, complete with reinforced edges to avoid tampering. Thus the poor people would no longer be cheated because anyone could compare what he was about to buy with what the law said should be sold to him.

L’Obelisco Vaticano è quello che svetta al centro di Piazza San Pietro: si tratta di uno dei tredici obelischi antichi, approdati al suolo romano dall’antico Egitto e, dopo quello di San Giovanni in Laterano, è anche il più alto, con i suoi gloriosi 25,3 metri di granito rosso, che diventano circa 40 se si aggiungono il basamento e la croce.
L’Obelisco di San Pietro, poi, era reso ancor più visibile dal globo metallico che ne sormontava la sommità e che era legato ad una leggenda popolare molto diffusa. Si riteneva, infatti, che la sfera altro non fosse se non l’urna cineraria di Caio Giulio Cesare, che in effetti fu cremato subito dopo l’assassinio. Nel 1586, Papa Sisto V incaricò Domenico Fontana di spostarlo: fu posto davanti alla facciata della basilica in costruzione.

The Vatican Obelisk is the one that stands out in the center of St. Peter's Square: it is one of the thirteen ancient obelisks that landed on Roman soil from ancient Egypt and, after that of St. John Lateran, it is also the tallest, with its glorious 25.3 meters of red granite, which becomes around 40 if the base and the cross are added.
The Obelisk of St. Peter, then, was made even more visible by the metal globe that surmounted its top and which was linked to a very widespread popular legend. It was believed, in fact, that the sphere was none other than the cinerary urn of Gaius Julius Caesar, who was in fact cremated immediately after the assassination. In 1586, Pope Sixtus V commissioned Domenico Fontana to move it: it was placed in front of the facade of the basilica under construction.
