The art on these walls wasn't bought at a store. 🎨

Tonight, all of Italy looks up. ⭐

August 10th: the feast of San Lorenzo, our neighborhood's patron — and la notte delle stelle cadenti, the night of shooting stars. The Perseids peak, and tradition says every star you catch grants a wish.

The legend is beautiful: the falling stars are the embers of Lawrence's fire, lighting the sky every year on his night.

Our tip for tonight: dinner outdoors in San Lorenzo, then find a dark corner — the Verano gardens' edges, or just look up from the street. The neighborhood celebrating its own saint, under his stars.

August 10th is the feast of San Lorenzo — and across Italy, it's la notte delle stelle cadenti: the night of shooting stars, when the sky fills with the Perseids and every falling star carries a wish.

Legend says the stars are the sparks of Lawrence's martyrdom, returning every year on his feast.

St. Peter's dome after dark, when the day-trippers are gone and the square belongs to the evening walkers.

From San Lorenzo: metro from Termini, or make it a golden-hour walk along the river. Either way, you sleep 20 minutes from everything.
