Welcome to the Eternal City! Before you explore, here are the tricks that save vacations (and wallets) 💡

1. The "coperto" really exists 🍝 In Italian restaurants you pay 1-3€ per person just to sit down. It's not a scam, it's tradition! Always check the menu.

2. Trevi Fountain = 2€ well spent ⛲ For 2 euros you can enter the underground cistern (Vicus Caprarius) and see the fountain "backstage." Magical and not crowded!

3. Water is free and delicious 💧 The "nasoni" drinking fountains provide fresh, potable water. Bring a reusable bottle and save money!

4. Museums are free on the first Sunday 🎨 Colosseum, Roman Forums, Borghese Gallery... every first Sunday of the month free entry. Arrive early!

5. "Caffè al banco" vs "al tavolo" ☕ At the counter: 1-1.50€. At the table: 3-5€. Same coffee, different price. You choose!

6. The 2019 "Growth Decree" 🧾 Small businesses (bars, gelato shops) are NOT required to accept card payments under 30€. Always carry cash.

7. Aperitivo = dinner 🥂 From 6:00 PM, 10-15€ gets you a drink + buffet. Many tourists don't know this and eat dinner afterward!

8. Metro: watch your bags 🚇 Lines A and B are safe but extremely crowded. Keep backpacks in front, especially at Termini.

9. The Colosseum "skip the line" trick 🏛️ Buy your ticket at the Roman Forum (entrance on Via dei Fori Imperiali): same price, zero line!

10. Shop opening hours 🛍️ Many close 1:00-4:00 PM (lunch break). Historic center shops don't, but outside ones do. Plan your shopping!

Roma dall’alto: un’esperienza mozzafiato!
