🇮🇹 LA FINTA CUPOLA DI SANT'IGNAZIO
È tra le opere più famose di Andrea Pozzo (1685-1694), notissima per il suo effetto barocco di stupore e meraviglia. Con un gioco di prospettiva, l’artista crea una finta architettura attraverso una tela di 13 metri di diametro.
Si tratta di uno straordinario esempio di trompe-l’oeil (l’inganno dell’occhio), un genere pittorico che, attraverso espedienti, induce nell’osservatore l’illusione di stare osservando oggetti reali e tridimensionali, seppur in realtà dipinti su una superficie bidimensionale.
Per ammirarne a pieno il perfetto gioco prospettico occorre porsi sopra un punto indicato sul pavimento da un disco marmoreo.

It is among the most famous works by Andrea Pozzo (1685-1694), well known for its baroque effect of amazement and wonder. With a game of perspective, the artist creates a fake architecture through a canvas 13 meters in diameter.
It is an extraordinary example of trompe-l'oeil (the deception of the eye), a pictorial genre that, through tricks, induces in the observer the illusion of being observing real and three-dimensional objects, even if in reality painted on a two-dimensional surface.
To fully admire the perfect play of perspective, it is necessary to place oneself above a point indicated on the floor by a marble disk.
