Few cars in history symbolize speed, style, and success like the 6C 1750 Grand Sport. Designed by Vittorio Jano, the 1929 1750 evolution of the model achieves the perfect balance between power and drivability. It is no surprise that, in its launch year, every race entered by a 1750 GS is won by the model. These include Grands Prix in Belgium, Ireland, Spain, Tunisia, and Italy (Rome and Monza), as well as the 24 Hours of Brooklands and the Tourist Trophy. Built in April 1931, with a Spider body by Zagato.

Initially registered to Alfa Romeo, it is then sold to official driver Giuseppe Campari, who, before the year is out, sells it to Mario Vanoni of Portoferraio, on the island of Elba. The car survives the war and, in 1949, is brought to Berlin by a British diplomat. There, in 1960, it is purchased by a US Army captain and taken to the United States. Returning to Europe in 1987, it is acquired by a Swiss enthusiast, and subsequently restored by Dino Cognolato and Francesco Bonfanti.

Today, it is part of an important British collection.

International Historic Motoring Awards

This Ferrari is a true show car, the only one ever built with this elegant Ghia body — one of just 34 Maranello cars clothed by the Turin coachbuilder. Displayed on the Ferrari stand at the 1952 Paris Salon, it captivated Argentine President Juan Perón, who purchased it a few months after the death of his wife Eva.

Arriving in Buenos Aires in 1953, it became Perón's favourite car. After his overthrow in 1955, the car was disposed of by the government and passed through several owners, suffering progressive deterioration.

Rediscovered in the 1990s, it was brought back to Europe for restoration. Acquired by a prominent American collector, it was also shown at Pebble Beach. In 2019 the current owners undertook a rigorous philological restoration, culminating in 2024 with Best of Show at Palm Beach Cavallino Classic, a perfect 100/100 score at Pebble Beach and Ferrari Classiche certification.

Thanks to the support of Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel, as part of Anantara Concorso Roma, ACLI di Roma aps has opened the doors of “Dispensa Solidale”: a new community hub dedicated to food recovery, waste reduction and support for individuals and families facing hardship.

Building on the experience of “Il cibo che serve ”, the initiative expands beyond food redistribution to provide essential hygiene and childcare products, while also offering guidance, listening and access to local support services.

A meaningful example of how institutions, the third sector and businesses can work together to create lasting value for the community.

The Lancia Aurelia B24, honoured with the SPIRITO DEL VIAGGIO Award at Anantara Concorso Roma 2026, perfectly embodies the grand touring spirit that has accompanied it throughout its life.

LANCIA IS RESPONSIBLE for much novel thinking, and the Aurelia is proof of that; it was among the very first series-production V6-engined cars.
Developed by Francesco de Virgilio under the direction of famed former Alfa engineer Vittorio Jano, the motor’s size would grow during the Aurelia’s eight-year life.

The rear suspension was no less innovative, with a transaxle gearbox, clutch and differential as well as inboard drum brakes. It was also the first car to boast radial tyres as standard. Pinin Farina styled the drop-top Aurelias, and the 1956 Convertible differed from the earlier Spider by way of a flatter windscreen, deeper doors with external handles, one-part chrome bumpers and more.

B24 1628 was delivered to Paris for a married couple, who used it to tour Europe, including visits to Goodwood (1962) and Venice (1963). Now fully restored, it continues to fill that touring role in the hands of its current custodian.

The Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B was the fastest and most expensive Italian car of its era. Introduced in 1937, it derived from the competition 2900A: essentially a Grand Prix single-seater homologated for the road. A supercharged eight-cylinder engine and the finest finishing placed it at the pinnacle of both engineering and style.

Only thirty were built by 1939, twenty on the short wheelbase and ten on the long. The first owner of this example is Giuseppe Antonio Farina, known as “Nino” — a racing driver from the 1930s and the first Formula 1 World Champion in 1950. Works driver for Alfa Romeo, son of the founder of Stabilimenti Farina and nephew of Pinin, he naturally chose the family coachbuilder: this is the only 8C 2900B bodied by Stabilimenti Farina.

The car was featured on the cover of Motor Italia in April 1939. In the 1950s it reached the United States and after various changes of ownership passed to Arturo Keller, who restored it in the 1990s.

Awarded the Peninsula Best of the Best in January 2026, it has been honoured at the Anantara Concorso Roma with the Special Award – LA VETTURA PIÙ ELEGANTE DELL’ANTE-GUERRA, celebrating it as the most elegant pre-war automobile of the event.
