Villa Pascoli, from the inside out.

Set directly on the lake in Manerba del Garda, Villa Pascoli is designed around its uninterrupted views. Wide glass doors connect the main living spaces with the covered terrace and infinity pool, while the garden continues down to private access to the lake.

It is the kind of layout that photographs can only hint at. Walking through it shows how naturally the spaces connect — and just how present the lake feels throughout.

A long list of attractive villas is not always very helpful.

The practical details usually narrow things down far more effectively: dates, group size, bedroom requirements and how everyone wants to spend their time.

Walking to restaurants, using the ferries, driving on hillside roads, bathroom arrangements and accessibility can all matter more than the first photograph.

A villa can be beautiful and still be wrong for a particular group. A useful shortlist should explain those differences honestly—including the compromises—so the final decision feels manageable.

Villa Clara is a strong option for a group of up to ten looking for space, a large private pool and wide Lake Garda views.

It has five double bedrooms, four bathrooms, covered outdoor dining and a 12-metre pool with a whirlpool.

Upper Gardone’s restaurants and cafés are around 15–20 minutes away on foot. The main lakeside centre is further downhill.

A couple of useful qualifiers: a car is needed, and air conditioning is not fitted in every bedroom. It is therefore a better fit for guests prioritising the pool, views and space than those wanting to walk to the promenade every evening.

Sometimes the most useful feedback is not about the pool or the view. It is about whether the whole experience felt easy.

A recent Villa Puro guest wrote:

“Richard and James were outstanding in organising our booking and liaising with the owners. Communication was excellent and efficient.”

Much of our work happens behind the scenes: checking details, liaising with owners and managers, and keeping arrangements clear from the initial enquiry onwards.

That part of a villa holiday may be less visible, but it matters.

Lake Garda is not one kind of holiday.

You can stay close to the restaurants, ferries and lively streets of towns such as Sirmione and Peschiera. Head further north and the scenery becomes more dramatic, with mountains rising directly from the water.

Your days might be spent exploring by boat, walking or cycling—or simply staying by the pool and enjoying the view. There are also plenty of places to visit beyond the lakeshore, including Borghetto and the countryside south of the lake.

This is why choosing the right location matters just as much as choosing the villa. A beautiful property can still be wrong for your group if it places you too far from the things you want to do.

There isn’t one best part of Lake Garda. It depends entirely on how you want to spend your time.

We’ve just added Colago Estate to our Lake Garda collection.

Set in five acres of Mediterranean gardens above Toscolano Maderno, it is made up of eight independent villas. This makes it an unusually flexible place to stay.

There are one-bedroom villas for two, smaller villas for families, and Villa Olivaia, with five bedrooms and space for up to 13 guests.

Larger groups can book several villas or the full estate. Everyone stays close, while couples and families still have their own space.

Daily breakfast is included, and every stay includes access to the heated estate infinity pool.

A glimpse of the view from Villa Dolce…

Set in the hills above Lake Garda, the villa looks directly across the lake.

Villa Dolce accommodates up to 12 guests and is arranged as three independent but interconnected apartments. It’s a layout we partreallyicularly recommend for families or groups of friends who want plenty of space to spend time together, while still enjoying a little independence and privacy.

Salò and Gardone Riviera are both around ten minutes away by car, making this a peaceful base within easy reach of two of our favourite lakeside towns.
