the rowan (vogelbeere) - it is a multi-stemmed tree and has a greyish smooth bark, creamy flowers in spring and striking orange-red fruits.
because of the high vitamin C content of its berries, it is widely used in cooked form as compote, puree or jam. a tea made from fresh fruits or blossoms is a remedy for coughs. fresh from the tree, they should only be consumed in small quantities. they support the immune system and strengthen digestion.

blueberries 🫐
botanically it is called "vaccinium myrtillus".
it is a knee-high dwarf shrub with grass-green leaves with red fall color,
white to pink flowers and
pea-sized, flattened round, blackish-blue berry fruits.
it grows in semi-shaded areas, coniferous forests, heaths and bogs.
a trademark of the blueberry from the forest is its strongly coloring juice.
fresh blueberries stimulate digestion ,
increase memory , preserve cell structures from damage and aging.
harvest time is july /august, enjoy fresh, also in yogurt, cake or with ice cream. boiled down they find use as jam or juice.
