At the edge of Castel Badia lie the foundations of a small Romanesque chapel, built in the 12th century.

For years it had disappeared beneath the ground, before being rediscovered through a careful reading of the terrain.

Its orientation remains unusual: rather than facing due east, the chapel turns slightly towards the mountain, as if adapting to the landscape around it.

Today, “…und immer wieder geht die Sonne auf…” by SCHWARZENFELD traces its perimeter through light alone. Rather than rebuilding what was lost, the installation works with absence, time, and the movement of the sun, letting the space reveal itself differently throughout the day.
