Gianni & Angela have run this bar for the past 35 years and counting.

They make all the pizze, biscotti, cornetti, gelato (in the summer), and pandoro and panettone (at Christmas). All made with love, 6 days a week.

For guests that are with us for more than 2 or 3 nights, we like to take you to this little, old school bar - the heart of the community - and buy you breakfast, where you can bathe in the clatter of spoons, the whooshing of the coffee machine and the exchange of dialect amongst the locals.

One week of the new flock and they're starting to settle and find their place. We have names now; Angry Bird, Eartha, Nugget, Turtle, and (the slightly more nervous) Foghorn. Pretty sure that will never remember who is who, but it's OK. They know who they are.

Now, if you could just grow a little bit and lay us some eggs, that would be just grand.

These spring days are just 👌. Here's our little house taken by our neighbours from the other side of the valley this morning (thanks ). It's the one bang in the middle with the visible white wall that's around the pool. If you're looking for peace and quiet, other than the odd rattling of a tractor, then head this way.

Ten years ago today, we left London - our home, job, friends and family - and moved into Casale Volpe with our 2 cats. It was a long-term project that was years in the making (if you want to know what it's like building a house in Italy, we are the ones to ask), but worth every stressful moment.

We're incredibly thankful to all of the lovely people we've been able to welcome to our little B&B (our home!) over the years. Also, to our engineers and architects, The Ferrantis, along with their team of builders, stone masons, plumbers, electricians... the list goes on.

It's hard to believe an entire decade has passed, especially when we still wake up every day with the same feeling of joyful giddiness and appreciation to be living where we are.

Here's to another ten years. And another. What a wonderful ride.

As promised, here are lots of photos of our B&B and the surrounding area in the height of spring and summer.
