Ci chiedono spesso da dove arrivi il nome “Eirl”. 🌿
In dialetto sappadino, “Eirl” significa ontano.
E proprio qui, dove oggi sorge il nostro retreat, c’è da sempre il Bosco di Eirl: un bosco di ontani che gli abitanti di Sappada hanno sempre chiamato così, da generazioni. Lo raccontano le persone, i ricordi… e persino le antiche mappe del territorio.
Per noi non era solo un bel nome.
Era già qui. Apparteneva a questo luogo molto prima di noi.
Abbiamo semplicemente deciso di custodirlo e farlo vivere ancora. 💚

People often ask us where the name “Eirl” comes from. 🌿
In the Sappada dialect, “Eirl” means alder.
And right here, where our retreat stands today, there has always been the Eirl Forest: a grove of alders that the people of Sappada have always called by that name, for generations. People tell the story, memories do… and even the ancient maps of the area.
For us, it wasn’t just a beautiful name.
It was already here. It belonged to this place long before we did.
We simply decided to preserve it and bring it back to life. 💚
