These days in carry a weight that is hard to put into words.
At Barandaz, the desert is still quiet, the fire still burns at night, and tea is still poured with the same warmth. But our hearts are heavier than before.
We have received many kind messages from guests we once hosted — checking on us, worrying about the internet cuts, sending care from far away. Your words mean more to us than you can imagine. Some of the best friendships we have ever found began here, with travelers who arrived as guests and stayed in our lives as friends.
Many lives have been lost in our country. It is deeply saddening and shocking for all of us. We stand with the grief of our people, even when there is little we can do to change the course of things.
We hope that soon, all of Iran and the world will witness more peace and friendship, and that we can welcome you again with greater calm, warmth, and kindness.
