Two generations. One vision.

Long before Paramount Alma had a name, it had a beginning — in the hands of Willi and Agnes Rainer, who built HOTEL RAINER - Family Resort Rainer from instinct, hospitality and hard mountain years.

Chris and his wife Ulla, architect at Plasma Studio carry that same idea forward — reshaped, never replaced.

Within every partnership here, the balance shifts. One seeks stillness, the other movement. One lingers over detail, the other trusts the bigger picture. One speaks first, the other listens longest. Different rhythms, always the same direction.

What began as a family’s idea of hospitality has expanded into Paramount Alma — a refuge for design-minded mountain lovers, built on the very ground where it all started.

At Paramount Alma, architecture and landscape are part of the same conversation.

The mountains shape the building; the building frames the mountains. And somewhere between the two, there is our panoramic swing — a simple invitation to pause, take in the view and, for a moment, see the landscape with a little less seriousness.

Because there is something quietly satisfying about doing what we did as children: finding a beautiful view, taking a seat, and simply swinging.

MOUNTAINS. ART. AND A KINDRED SPIRIT.

At Paramount Alma, we love the mountains – in all their facets.
We love their beauty, their power, their silence. And we love moving through them, experiencing them and discovering them again and again.

And we love art – just as much, in all its many forms.

In Giulia Neri, we found a kindred spirit: a mountain lover and a brilliant illustrator. In her book, images and words come together in a very special way:

“Essere tutto, non essere niente.”

On Monday, August 3 at 5:30 pm, Giulia Neri will present her illustrations and her book here with us at SALON PARAMOUNT (IT - DT)

Eine besondere Verbindung zum Reinhold Messner Haus

2025 wurde die ehemalige Bergstation am Helm durch ein außergewöhnliches Re- und Upcycling-Projekt in das Reinhold Messner Haus verwandelt.

Für die Familien Rainer ist dieser Ort eng mit einer persönlichen Geschichte verbunden: Willi Rainer und Reinhold Messner verbindet seit über 30 Jahren eine Freundschaft und die gemeinsame Vision eines Ortes für alpine Kultur in Sexten.

Entworfen wurde das Haus von Ulla Hell und Plasma Studio. Ulla ist zugleich Gastgeberin im Paramount Alma und wird unsere Gäste mehrmals im Sommer persönlich durch das Reinhold Messner Haus führen – mit besonderen Einblicken in Architektur, Entstehung und Idee des Projekts.
