The Black Procession of Sorrento is a traditional religious event that takes place during Holy Week, on the night of Good Friday.

It is officially called the Procession of the Dead Christ and is organized by the Venerable Archconfraternity of Death. Participants wear black robes and hoods as a sign of mourning.

The procession moves slowly through the streets at night, illuminated by torches, while funeral music and chants create a solemn atmosphere. Statues of the dead Christ and the Virgin Mary are carried along the route.

This event symbolizes grief for the death of Jesus and is an important moment of reflection and devotion for the local community.

It was a deeply moving moment, as the city of Sorrento came together to welcome its patron saint. On the occasion of the festival, Sorrento was adorned with beautiful Apulian lights, accompanied by a performance from the orchestra in Piazza Tasso, creating a unique and evocative atmosphere for both locals and visitors.

"Lui è Charlie. Ha circa un anno e mezzo. Il padrone è venuto a mancare improvvisamente e lui è rimasto solo. È dolcissimo e va d'accordo con gli altri cani. Veniva lasciato libero ma tornava sempre a casa dove trovava il suo papà umano. Adesso torna ma non c'è nessuno ad aspettarlo, così continua a girare nella speranza di trovarlo. Sta sempre nella villetta Nicolas Green in cerca del suo padrone. Ha bisogno di tanto amore e sicurezza. Aiutiamo Charlie a trovare una casa e una famiglia che gli dia tutto l'amore che merita. È adorabile❤️"
