THE GLADIATORS Were you fascinated by the story of Quinto Decimo Meridio, Roman gladiator personified by Russell Crowe? then you cannot miss the exhibition of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples which has inaugurated a special exhibition on gladiators. The exhibition will be active until January 6, 2022. From Sorrento just take the local train to Naples.

Do you know that the Royal Palace of Caserta was a film set for the episodes of Star Wars? "Star Wars: the phantom menace" and "Star Wars: the attack of the clones", the first and second installments of the series, shot in 1999 and 2002. The Royal Palace of Caserta can be visited with a daily excursion.

the legend of the sailing ship of San Pietro.On the night of 28/29 June, a glass container is placed with the belly and it is filled with cold water. You slide an egg white inside.

take the container under an alvero or in a meadow in contact with the ground. If you are on a terrace, a vase with the earth could be fine without moving it too much. You can leave it overnight under the dew that will make the magic. In the morning the egg white took the form of a boat with sails. According to their shape, the farmers predicted the weather conditions:

- open canopies: sun

-sails closed: rain

Legend has it that if you create a nice sailing ship, it will be a good omen for a good harvest, for a good future.

Tasso's square in the 1600. The name of the main square in Sorrento was Piazza Castello (Square Castle) because there was the door of the Castle of the city. Only in the middle of the 1800 the city start to have the actual look and the square change the name in honor to writer Torquato Tasso.
