Da questa frase nasce l’immagine della 𝟰𝟰ª edizione del 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥, realizzata da Nicole Balassone. Una finestra accesa nel buio, due profili uno di fronte all’altro. Più della notte, a noi interessa la luce. Quel lampo che, anche solo per un istante, rompe l’oscurità e la rende abitabile.
In questa immagine si condensa la tensione che attraversa molti dei film di quest’anno, sospesi tra una spinta vitale e desiderante e la durezza di un mondo in ombra. Una luce che non si arrende al buio.
Quest’anno abbiamo ricevuto 𝟏.𝟐𝟎𝟎 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐢 da 𝟖𝟎 𝐩𝐚𝐞𝐬𝐢. Ne presenteremo 𝟱𝟰, provenienti da 𝟏𝟗 𝐧𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢: opere lontanissime per geografia, linguaggio e sguardo, che per quattro giorni condivideranno la stessa sala.
Ci vediamo dal 𝟒 𝐚𝐥 𝟕 𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐞 al Cinema Pacifico Sulmona.

From this line, Nicole Balassone created the image for the 𝟒𝟒𝐭𝐡 edition of the 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥. A lit window in the dark, two profiles facing each other. More than the night, it is the light that matters to us: that flash which, even for a single instant, breaks through the darkness and makes it habitable.
This image distills the tension running through many of this year’s films, suspended between a vital, desiring impulse and the harshness of a world in shadow. A light that does not surrender to the dark.
This year we received 𝟏,𝟐𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐬 from 𝟖𝟎 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬. We will present 𝟓𝟒 of them, from 𝟏𝟗 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: works worlds apart in geography, language and gaze, which for four days will share the same screen.
