The Sentiero delle Acque is always one of our favorite hikes. We discovered an amazing restaurant with a view of the ancient mill and enjoyed a truly fabulous lunch Romito Osteria
It was a truly fantastic day and an amazing lunch!!!

Our hidden treasures here in the Marche are sometimes found just by walking below the road. As you drive along the twists and turns remember that there are rivers, streams, waterfalls, caves, and much more just beneath the roads. Here is the peaceful fountain of St. Nicola and a shrine. Just minutes outside the historic center of Sant’Angelo in Pontano and part of the Anello della Val di Fiastra

Just up the road from Casa Pace e Gioia is this beautiful church and every summer they host an amazing fun festa with the best food!!! Hope to see you there!

June 23, the night of San Giovanni is special. We collect flowers and herbs, traditionally at sunset, then put them in a bowl of water, and leave it outside for San Giovanni to bless overnight.
Many local towns have special events, concerts, and organized walks to collect the flowers.
The next morning, on the birthday of San Giovanni, we wash our hands and faces with the water of San Giovanni, which is refreshing and smells wonderful. This is said to bring good fortune and health. Here is my bowl from this year!
