That’s the whole idea of this place: to give you back the one thing the world keeps taking. The time to sit still, and let the light do the rest.

Tonight, Venice stops breathing. Then the sky over the lagoon catches fire.

This is the Redentore. The most Venetian night of the year.

For a few hours, thousands of boats fill the water between San Marco and Giudecca. Tables are set on the decks.

Families, strangers, whole generations, all waiting for the same thing. Darkness, and the sky breaking open above the most beautiful skyline in the world.

But the Redentore was never about the fireworks.

In 1576 the plague took nearly 50,000 Venetians. Almost one in three. When it finally ended, the city made a promise. It built a church to the Redeemer on Giudecca, and vowed to walk there every year, across the water.

That promise is still kept. Tomorrow a bridge of boats, 330 meters of floating wood, stretches across the canal so the city can cross on foot and say thank you. Four and a half centuries later.

That’s the part most people miss. The lights are the celebration. The gratitude is the reason.

Venice doesn’t light up the sky to forget. It does it to remember.
And from here, across the lagoon, we watch the same sky our guests have watched for generations. Close enough to feel it. Far enough to breathe.

C’è chi torna dove è stato bene. E poi c’è chi torna dove si è sentito a casa. ✨

Manuela Arcuri, insieme a suo figlio, ci sceglie ogni anno. E come lei, tante famiglie che fino a poco tempo fa non immagivavano un posto chiamato Cavallino Treporti. Un angolo d’Italia che il Nord Europa ama da decenni e che nuovi flussi turistici stanno scoprendo solo ora.

Anche grazie a noi. E ne siamo onorati.
