Some weeks have passed since Niccolò and Leonie’s wedding, and I think I needed a little time to let all the emotions settle before trying to put them into words.
What I remember most about that day is their joy. It was so clear and so genuine that I think it simply spread to everyone around them. Watching them begin this new chapter together was beautiful. Of course, Niccolò is my son, so I may not be completely impartial 😊, but seeing two people so deeply connected, so happy together and, above all, such good friends really filled my heart!
I’ve also thought a lot about what these days meant for our families. Leonie’s family and so many friends came from Germany and other parts of the world to be here with us. Different languages, stories and traditions somehow mixed together very naturally. There was curiosity, warmth, lots of talking and laughing, and the feeling that people genuinely enjoyed discovering one another. I loved that.
Leonie planned every detail with incredible care. Behind that day were months of work, attention and love, together with the involvement of the Moricciani family, who contributed with enthusiasm and affection.
It was also a special joy for me to welcome so many family members and friends into our home, La Moscadella, and to give Nicco and Leo our most beautiful room for their first night as husband and wife! 🤩
Gathering everyone again for brunch the following day was a lovely way to make the celebration last just a little longer, to spend more time together and to feel that, somehow, we were already becoming one family.
Our team also shared these days with us in a very special way. Being able to offer the hospitality we are so proud of for such an important moment in our own family meant a lot to me. I want to thank each and every person who works with us for the dedication, sensitivity and affection with which they accompanied us.
But in the end, what stays with me most is a very simple image: my son, happy beside the woman he loves 💙
For a mother, it is difficult to imagine a greater gift.
