Set in the hills overlooking a beautiful Umbrian Valley, with uninterrupted views as far as Assisi, Casa San Gabriel is a collection of 4 farmhouses dating back to the 16th Century. Lovingly restored by the present owners, David and Chrissie and their daughters Elisabetta and Lucia. It's position set among 3 acres of its own land and surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and wooded hillsides, gives guests the utmost peace and tranquillity to relax and unwind and the opportunity to walk in the beautiful Umbrian countryside. There is accommodation for 10 in 3 totally independent cottages (2,4,4), all with private terraces, fully equipped kitchen, sitting / dinning room, central heating, bathroom with shower and wifi access. The main house offers a communal room with a well stocked library including books, guidebooks and dvds. Guests can enjoy the 14.5m * 4.5m in-ground pool, a wood-burning pizza oven and herb garden.

Autumn in Umbria

There’s something truly magical about autumn in Umbria. 🍁 The sunsets are spectacular as the foliage in our valley slowly turns to gold, amber and red. We’re coming to the end of our swimming season — one of the longest in living memory — and those daily swims have been one of the absolute highlights of our days. 💦☀️

And now, a different kind of season is taking centre stage… 🍷🍄‍🟫 Truffles, local w**es, wild game and freshly appearing mushrooms are finding their way onto the menus of our wonderful local restaurants. It’s a time to slow down, savour the flavours, soak up the colours and enjoy the quieter beauty of the Umbrian countryside.

C’è qualcosa di davvero magico nell’autunno umbro. 🍁 I tramonti sono spettacolari, mentre il foliage della nostra valle si tinge lentamente di oro, ambra e rosso. Stiamo arrivando alla fine della stagione dei bagni, una delle più lunghe a memoria d’uomo, e quei momenti quotidiani in acqua sono stati una delle gioie più grandi delle nostre giornate. 💦☀️

E ora è il momento di assaporare un’altra meravigliosa stagione… 🍷🍄‍🟫 Tartufi, vini locali, selvaggina e funghi freschi iniziano a comparire nei menù dei nostri fantastici ristoranti della zona. Autumn in Umbria 🍂🍷

There’s something very special about this time of year at Casa San Gabriel. The weather is still beautiful, the sunsets are spectacular, and the pace of life slows down as the seasons change. 🌅

The w**e vintage is now finished, and our attention turns to the next great harvest of the year — preparations are underway for the olive harvest. 🫒

It’s also a wonderful time to enjoy the flavours of Umbria, with wild boar, truffles, porcini mushrooms and roasted chestnuts all making their seasonal appearance. 🍄🌰

And yes, the pool is still open! So you can spend the day enjoying the sunshine, take a dip, and finish the evening watching another unforgettable Umbrian sunset.

It was wonderful to spend a part of our wedding anniversary in cooler air and to have family visiting as we climbed Mt Tezio to enjoy the views over Lake Trasimeno and towards Mt Subasio and beyond È stato meraviglioso trascorrere una parte del nostro anniversario di matrimonio in aria più fresca e avere la famiglia in visita mentre scalavamo il Monte Tezio per goderci la vista sul Lago Trasimeno e verso il Monte Subasio e oltre
