Il B&B Welcome House è ubicato nel centro storico di Vallelonga, piccolo comune della Provincia di Vibo Valentia situato sul versante centro-orientale dell’Altopiano delle Serre, ad un’altezza di 650 m s.l.m. Vallelonga è una meta ideale per trascorrere qualche giorno in completo relax e a contatto con la natura, lontani dai ritmi frenetici della vita quotidiana, con la possibilità di gustare i se
mplici e genuini prodotti del luogo. La vicinanza dei mari Tirreno e Ionio favoriscono un microclima fresco, caratterizzato da una grande inversione termica che determina lo sviluppo di una vegetazione tipicamente montana a quote relativamente basse. Lecci, abeti bianchi, castagni, per terminare con la suggestiva faggeta di Monte Cucco, attraversata dal Sentiero Italia (SI) del Club Alpino Italiano (CAI), dove è possibile godere dell’aria salubre e frizzante e compiere escursioni naturalistiche di rara bellezza paesaggistica. Da qui è poi possibile spostarsi per visitare tutta la zona delle Serre Calabresi e i vicini centri di interesse turistico e culturale, come Torre di Ruggero, Serra San Bruno con la sua Certosa, complesso monastico tra i più importanti d'Italia o Mongiana, in cui è presente Villa Vittoria, un grande parco naturale dotato di un laghetto, di aree picnic, del giardino delle erbe medicinali, aromatiche e officinali e di percorsi didattici e naturalistici. Inoltre, vista la posizione centrale, praticamente a metà strada tra la costa jonica e quella tirrenica, Vallelonga offre l’opportunità di raggiungere facilmente il mare e godere della bellezza delle coste calabresi e di rinomati centri marinari, come Soverato, Pizzo o Tropea, per poi rientrare nel fresco delle serate estive vallelonghesi. Da visitare il Museo Chirurgico "Castiglione Morelli", il Santuario della Madonna di Monserrato, elevata a basilica minore dal Papa Paolo VI e il cui culto è molto sentito nella zona e attira ogni anno migliaia di pellegrini e nel suo interno si possono ammirare le pitture murali sul soffitto dell'abside, le statue in marmo e in legno e sul soffitto della navata centrale si trovano tre grandi tele di A. Nel Santuario è presente inoltre il più grande organo a canne di tutta la Calabria, con il quale si svolgono diverse manifestazioni organistiche di richiamo nazionale.
