THE HISTORY

The Hotel Royal Victoria has very old traditions. Once a spinnery, it was bought by Mrs Giuseppina Pezzini who transformed it into a hotel and called it "Hotel Royal". The "Hotel Royal", the most famous of the Lecco branch of lake Como, gave hospitality to many famous people. In 1838 the Queen of England stayed here, and it was in her honour that the hotel changed its name to "Ho

tel Royal Victoria". Probably also the famous musician and composer Gounod was inspired by his contemplations of the lake at sunset before composing his "Ave Maria". After the last restoration works in in 2012 the Hotel now offers all the comforts of modernity whilst maintaining its charm. The bright and comfortable halls provide a refined and attractive atmosphere, the courteous staff ensure guests receive the best attention. THE HOTEL ROYAL VICTORIA

The Hotel Royal Victoria of Varenna is a four stars hotel facing the lake, situated in the historical centre of Varenna, a charming medieval village and one of the most appreciated tourist destinations of lake Como. Varenna is a peculiar village: on one hand it is a lively and modern tourist centre at the heart of the lake transport net, on the other hand it preserves its medieval aspect and atmosphere. The Hotel Royal Victoria is an historical hotel where the recent restoration works have preserved its XIX century aspect; the rooms offer all modern comforts but maintain the atmosphere of a charming hotel. The Restaurant Gourmet, with a nice veranda overlooking the little town of Bellagio, can be reached also by boat thanks to a private wharf. The swimming-pool in the garden is the perfect place where you can relax after an excursion in the marvellous surroundings.

Our Bar Giardino will reopen from April 1st, welcoming you for unforgettable lunches and aperitifs surrounded by the delicate fragrance of wisteria.

For just 10 days, up to two weeks at most, nature reaches its most poetic expression, transforming these spaces into a dreamlike setting suspended between fragrance, color and light.
